The interesting thing about Wikipedia is that you cannot edit the page about yourself, as you‘re biased. So you have to resort to fake email addresses or ask other people on your behalf. For a while there were factual mistakes on my wikipedia page and it took me a long time to correct them. For instance, I simply never was a professor at the art university in vienna, I just gave a talk there once…

This is a very interesting point. Of course, if there is a fact that is incorrect, then wanting to have that corrected is understandable. And there not being an authority that you can appeal to is frustrating. But at the same time, not allowing people to write about themselves is a useful fail safe. To be clear, I was using the situation with Herron to make a point about the lengths people will go to when trying to control the narrative. Wikipedia is clearly one outlet that means a lot.

Indeed. And it seems like Camille and/or husband did a bit too much to control the narrative. And now they lost any control at all.

I wonder at what point in the journey of her very obvious success they had the thought to check Wikipedia and decide the write up wasn’t adequate??!
